Month: November 2013
Hello nerds and nerdesses, welcome to the Osai Effect As a result of a lot of requests, we have decided to add this segment to compliment the ‘5 Must Have Android Apps’ segment. Well, enough talk, let us get to it!
At number 5, we have one of our Games of the Week from a couple of weeks back. We are talking of none other than Trial Xtreme 3, the bike stunts game.
At number 4, we have our very first Game of the Week. We have none other than the endless runner/shooter: A Good day to DIE HARD.
At number 3, we have a new game making its debut appearance. We are talking of one of the most interesting and challenging free racing games on Android. We give you Raging Thunder 2! We love the graphics and the gameplay and the fact that there a lot of modes and tracks to select from and that it is only around 30MB! Coupled with the fact that one does not need to spend money to get the cool upgrades/cars. Raging Thunder 2 at number 3!
At number 2, we have another of our old Games of the Week. We are talking of none other than Hungry Shark Evolution. We really love Hungry Shark Evolution but at 84MB, it is a bit on the heavy side and that kinda sucks 😦
And finally, at number 1 we have Zombie Highway! Zombie Highway is an endless drive in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies try to flip your car around and eat your brains out. There are several cars and weapons to unlock as well as over 10 roads! The medals are cool and there are medals higher than even gold =D We love Zombie Highway and we give it a solid 8.5/10!
That’s it from us folks, if you are having issues with downloading some of these games, shoot us an email at email@example.com

Hello nerds and nerdesses, welcome to the Osai Effect
Today is the last day of the month and we have our customary post. Last month’s apps were pretty hot and we had a lot of positive feedback. This month, we have some old apps making reappearances and some new ones making their debut appearance.
At number 5 this month, we have Ebook Reader. ER was the App of the Week a couple of weeks back and we believe it is no surprise that we have it here. eBook Reader lets one download and read electronically published files as well as some native documents. eBook Reader came in handy when we were reading some novels and textbooks. We also used it to read our language lessons.
At Number 4 we a new app that was much anticipated in its release. It stormed the Android market and downloads are already in the millions! We are talking of none other than BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). BBM is a messenger/chat application that delivers messages and other forms of media in real time. Although the original release was fraught with bugs and errors, the latest version removes some and adds some new features like the separation of contacts into categories. BBM is for phones and there is no dedicated app for tablets. However, we got you covered at TOE, shoot us an email at theosaieffect.gmail.com and we will point ya in the right direction 😉
At Number 3 we have one of our old appearances from last month. Our financial app Quickteller comes back better than the beta 😀 There are several new features like the ‘Remember my Verve Card’ and several bugs are fixed. Quickteller at Number 2!
At Number 2 we have Google Translate. Google Translate is all types of awesome as it lets us translate slangs, phrases and even special characters (like Japanese and Chinese) to different languages. It came most in handy when we were talking to our Francophone colleagues and also our Chinese and Russian friends. Google Translate at Number 2!
And finally, at number 1 we have our most useful app for November. We bring you Flash Share again! Flash Share is a free file sharing app that lets you share apps, games, videos, music etc. Flash Share is unavailable on Play store and some phones may not let one install it (Samsungs and Sonys) without checking the ‘Install apps that are not from Google Play’ option in the System settings.
That’s it from us folks, Yoro Shiku!

Hello nerds and nerdesses, welcome to The Osai Effect
Around Town is a segment where we bring y’all cool things happening around us in a cool way. There are so many wonderful and brilliant stuff that never get to the limelight or even online and as we know, a good online presence can be the turning point of someone’s career (ask Justin Beiber). We know not everyone has the resources to do so or the time perhaps, but we do and we want them to grow and we want to keep you informed 😀
OK, enough gist.
This week we have a string of ceiling murals in Ibadan, Nigeria. When we saw this for the first time it was surreal, like something out of a novel. One hardly comes across murals that are so rich and colourful and especially not on the ceiling! If you’re in Ibadan, head to 151 Adamasingba Shopping Complex and walk down the corridor. These guys are awesome!
To contact them, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or check our ‘Contact Us’ at the top of the homepage.
That’s it from us folks, goodnight!

Hello nerds and nerdesses, welcome to the Osai Effect!
Finally, finally we are launching our Update segment ^_^
- Well, although this is a bit old, some of us still don’t know it…We have a Twitter account, please follow us! @theosaieffect .
- We are adding three new segments to the blog to be updated on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (no more only Friday posts ^_^). The new segments are: Updates! Which you are currently reading. Around the Web (Where we feature a relevant post from various website(s)). Around Town (Where we feature cool new stuff around our current city, Ibadan).
- This should be a post on it’s own though but oh well, maybe next month. There are some apps that you should not update immediately on Play store as the updates don’t really add new stuff. For now, we suggest that you don’t update Chrome as this is a waste of data. The new Chrome is the same as the current one with the only new feature being that devices running 4.4 Kit Kat (Android’s new OS) can connect to a printer. We suggest you don’t update Twitter as well as the new Twitter is a bit confusing and still has bugs.
- Update Subway Surfers! ^_^ Subway Surfers London is great (We just made a new Highscore :D).
And that’s it from Updates this evening! Goodnight!

Hello nerds and nerdesses, welcome to The Osai Effect.
Our Game of the Week this time around may be a bit more than ‘engrossing’ as we played this one for hours some days.
This week we have as our Top Game: Hungry Shark Evolution. HSE is a 3D action game that follows the adventures of a shark out to be the meanest and baddest in the sea and eats fish and men and some birds to stay alive.
We love the fact that the sharks don’t develop too fast and not too slow. It’s such a great design because you see progress but it isn’t too easy. We also love the fact that you can upgrade your shark to a new one after a certain level and you can even give it some form of apparel which boosts the shark’s abilities. We love that you can actually play the game without spending any money to buy add-ons and equipment and we love the fact that we can use the ’tilt’ form or the virtual D-Pad. We even love the fun way the ads come on! HSE is that awesome!
We were unable to find anything wrong with Hungry Shark Evolution and so we rate it a big 8/10!
